I don't know how you can get a knife blade set up on a fixture to grind a scandi grind. There is just not enough room on the small rest they supply with the grinders. Good machine. You can get the wuertz surface grinder attachment for the KMG its just $1600 or so. Another option for a surface grinder is buying an older surface grinder and converting it from grinder stone/wheel to Contact wheel and belts, if you shop long enough it's possible to do it cheaper than the attachment, if you have the real estate in the shop for it.

It's made my Travis Wuertz in Casa Grande Arizona and, at the time I bought it, it was one of the most expensive tools I'd ever purchased. My milling machine actually eclipsed it in terms of cost, but I have gotten a ton of good use out of my grinder.
