Answer: Portland cement clinker is the material that gets ground up (possibly with gypsum and other small quantities of material) to become Portland cement. Clinker is in the form of rounded granules, typically 3 to 25mm diameter. Those granules are the sintered output from large rotary kilns. ...

To achieve this, the clinker content in the cement must be lowered from the current average of 80% per ton of cement to 50% or less (basis for calculation = approx. 750 to 800 kg CO 2 per ton of clinker). This means a reduction of > 200 kg/CO 2 per ton of cement and thus of > 60 to 70 kg CO 2 per m³ of concrete.

When stretched, the tendrils within the concrete fall apart. Standard Portland cement concrete has a compressive strength of 3,000 to 6,000 pounds per square inch (psi), or about 20,684.27 to 41,368.54 kilopascals (kPa). In contrast, its tensile strength is only 300 to 700 psi (2,757.9 to 4,826.33 kPa).

The temperature at the core of the blast furnace reaches nearly 1,600 degrees C (about 3,000 degrees F). The pig iron is then transferred to the basic oxygen furnace to make steel. 1,350 Kg of CO2 is emitted per 1,000 Kg pig iron produced. 70% of steel is made from Coal: A 1 MW of wind turbine capacity requires 220 tonnes of coal.

This means about 1.1 tons of water was required for each ton of clinker made. Note 21. Octavian Julius Croft Corelli, b 8/1/1886, Hampstead. Went on to manage plants in Gwalior and Coimbatore, India. Note 22. This low value is confirmed by other analyses of the time: clearly less than 1% gypsum was being added. Note 23.

According to the data we know, the total cost of a cement plant is estimated to be US$ 17,000 to US$ 20,000 per ton. One thing to be clear, this is just an estimation, in the real cement plant building, the cement factory cost is affected by various factors, including the significant difference in cost of land, availability of limestone mines, etc.

The clay is heated to around 800 degrees Celsius - significantly less heat than is needed to produce clinker. Thanks to the significant energy saving in the production of thermally activated clays and the changed chemical composition, CO2 emissions per ton of cement can be cut by up to 40 percent. Reduced dependence on expensive clinker imports

December 30, 2011. Currently doing fence posts and some small concrete pads around the house so I need to self mix the concrete. 1 Cement 2.5 Sand 4 Aggregate is OK for fence posts. 13bags of cement per cubic metre. The more cement the more costly of course so don't over do it. Note: These are 20kg bags of General Purpose cement.
