For me, 36 or 40 is the first belt to grab for fast roughing. You'll want to have a range that starts around 40 & ends around 400. As Papasloan said, belt life is long, so the cost per use is really low. You may want to contact some of these suppliers for belts - I've bought from all of them & each does a good job.
